Course Introduction
GCSE History will help you to answer important questions such as: Why do countries go to war? What would make so many ordinary people vote for a fascist dictator? How difficult was it for a woman to rule England in the 16th century? How have we come to live in a multi-cultural society? Learning about past events and the people who’ve influenced history will help you to understand how the world got to the point it’s at now and how it may continue to develop in the future.
GCSE History will develop your knowledge base of a range of different topics from as far back as the 8th century all the way up to the present day. You will also learn valuable skills that will help you to progress to A Level and into the workplace including: excellent communication and writing; how to construct and defend an argument; using primary and secondary sources of evidence; investigation and independent research; and, analytical and interpretation skills.
GCSE History provides the ideal foundation, not just for A Level History, but also subjects like Politics, Law and Economics. Likewise, it could lead you towards a wide range of careers from solicitor to journalist, archaeology to marketing, politics to teaching!
