I am delighted to be able to share with you that Wymondham College was announced last night as the ‘Secondary School of the Year’ in the National Teaching Awards. This accolade is for every single student, member of staff and everyone in our wider community including the many organisations who support our work.

The Secretary of State for Education, Nadhim Zahawi said: “I would like to congratulate Wymondham College for this recognition of their amazing work and dedication to their students. Winning one of these awards is a terrific achievement and is testament to their skill, commitment, and passion for teaching.”

Sharon Hague, Managing Director of Pearson School Qualifications, said: “Wymondham College is a shining example of the wonderful educators who work tirelessly across the country to provide the best possible experience for their students, and we thank them all.”

Rachel Johnson, CEO at PiXL, supporter of The Award for Making a Difference - Secondary School of the Year, said: “Wymondham College is a fantastic school and a very deserving winner of this award. Everyone at the school has worked so hard during incredibly challenging circumstances and it is only right that we take this opportunity to praise their dedication and commitment to education. Everyone at PiXL was impressed by their efforts, and we are delighted that they have been recognised as a winning school.”

No school is perfect, but this is a reminder of all that makes the College such a special and unique community. This is all the more special given the challenging time we have all faced over the last 18 months and I could not be prouder of the collective endeavours of the whole College team.
