Mr Philip Norton – Chair of Governors

Mr Norton is a former Partner at Hansells and now a Consultant Solicitor dealing with Private Client and Charity Law at the firm.  He is a Trustee of Wymondham College Trust and other well established local charities, some with a medical and others with an educational emphasis.  Mr Norton advises charities both locally and nationally on legal and governance matters and he has had three daughters pass through the College.

Mr Adrian Underwood

Mr Underwood has been involved in education and boarding for over forty-five years having been a housemaster and a head of department and, for twenty-two years Headmaster of a senior independent boarding and day school.  He was a Director of the National Boarding Schools’ Association from 1998-2006 and he was a lead inspector for the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate and the Education Development Trust for over fifteen years.

Mr James Foster

Mr Foster now works in NHS Primary Care after a career in private industry and the media.  Formally, he ran the editorial team in Archant Norfolk including the EDP and Evening News.  He has an interest in using technology and training to improve working practices and passionate about ensuring all our young people have great life opportunities. Mr Foster is proud of the tradition of the College in offering this to pupils.  Mr Foster has a son who is a boarder.

Mr Joseph Walpole

Mr Walpole is married with two children, one of which has recently left the College after the completion of GCSEs and one who remains as a student.  He spent twenty years as a Project/Programme Manager with large international and small local businesses across multiple industries delivering mainly ICT projects.  Mr Walpole is involved with the government’s Building Schools for the Future programme and has an active personal and professional interest to see ICT excellence in educational establishments.  His wife is Vice-Chair of the PSA.

Mr Robert Fenton

Mr Fenton is a retired international Project Director with a wealth of management experience.  He is a part time teacher of Maths to small groups throughout Suffolk and Norfolk and sees his main role as supporting and challenging the College’s leadership team such that all pupils are taught, cared for and can achieve their school ambitions in a safe and enriching environment.  He is an experienced Governor and mentor with two girls boarding at the College. 

Mr Fenton undertakes voluntary work for Norfolk and countywide organisations.

 

 

Rob fenton

Mr Seamus Rigney

Mr Rigney is a staff member married with three children.  He joined the College in 2010 as Head of Design Technology; having started his career at Sexey’s School in Bruton and has been involved in boarding all his teaching life.  Throughout his career, he has had a variety of different responsibilities, as Housemaster, Higher Education Coordinator and Sixth Form PSHE Coordinator.  His wife also teachers part time at the College.
