Studentswere looking more than usually colourful in an extra layer of hoodies and hats as they took part in wrap up Wednesday as part of ‘Big Switch week’ at the College.
On Wednesday staff and students made a particular effort to turn down the radiator valves to 3 or below. Reminding them to put on an extra layer at home rather than wondering around in a t-shirt with the heating on. They are also considering that 1 in 5 households in the UK are in fuel poverty so wrapping up warm is really important for these people. Students were allowed to wear hats and hoodies during the day along with their uniform.
The aim of Big Switch Week is to remind us all to use good energy behaviours and to make people aware of fuel poverty in the UK.
