The Under 15 Football Team exited the County Cup yesterday in a high scoring and exciting game.
With the game not being settled after full time, it came down to extra time to decide a winner between Wymondham College and Oriel High School. After going 0-1 down to a goal from Oriel in the first few minutes, Wymondham managed to find some courage from somewhere and it helped claw them back into the game. Charlie Taylor the first to score a cracking volley into the bottom corner was backed up by a superb solo effort from Zino Mario-Ghae, where he crafted the ball into the top right corner after a break from the half way line. Mario-Ghae kept his nerve 5 minutes later to put away a penalty after captain Toby Fletcher was felled in the box.

Oriel came back into the second half fired up and scored 2 goals in 3 minutes to draw level. Oriel, then went down to 10 men after their captain was sent off for dissent. Shortly after this, Nick Moore managed to get the college a 4-3 lead after he pounced on a good cross from a corner with 23 minutes to go. The boys tried their best to hang onto the lead, but with 5 minutes to go let in an unfortunate goal.

With no score settling the game extra time was called upon. By the end of the first half of extra time, 10 men Oriel had put 4 goals into the back of the net. This was a result that didn’t change for the remainder of extra time and the game ended this way.
