Dance for Life Winners

On Saturday 6th June Wymondham College's Class Act Drama club competed against Dance Schools and other local high schools in the British Red Cross 'Dance for Life' Competition held at Eaton CNS.

The College’s performance was a mixture of dance and physical theatre, the routine began showing the four corners of the Earth in equilibrium; also symbolising The Red Cross’ impartiality.

They went on to depict how at anytime anyone across the world could be struck by barriers of misfortune, either natural disaster; such as an earthquake, or drought and in-turn starvation: others affected more by human hands; family welfare or the recruitment of child soldiers in countries such as Sierra Leone.

When in the depths of despair members of The Red Cross arrive, as angels, and help those suffering to get back on track.

Competition was fierce and Class Act, made up from twenty four 11-14 year olds, danced their hearts out in a routine devised to show the work of the Red Cross. The results saw Class Act come home with 2nd place for Concept, 2nd place for Choreography, 1st place for Diversity of Dance and overall Senior Dance winner. Well done to all those involved.
