The school dominated their side of the competition with easy wins over Fakenham, Diss and KES during the earlier rounds.
Norwich school would prove to be a much sterner test. Having been asked to bat first in the 30 over match, the College openers Matthew Taylor and Will Evans scored freely, racking up 29 runs in the first 4 overs against the Norwich pace attack. However, the introduction of Norwich’s Year 8 leg spinner Kulkarni saw wickets fall at regular intervals. An all spin attack reduced the College to 48 for 7 before a rearguard response from top scorer Jonny Malcolm (18) provided some resistance to the middle order collapse. The College were bowled out for 68 in 24 overs which was well below par.
The team started positively in trying to restrict the runs from Norwich by opening the bowling with our two spinners Taylor and skipper Caleb Futter. However despite losing 4 wickets George (21) and Randall (14) saw Norwich home to secure the win.
