Wymondham College welcomes UEA MFL

On Friday 30th January, The Modern Foreign Language Department was pleased to host fifteen student teachers from UEA's Post Graduate Certificate of Education course along with their course tutor Andrew Sheldrake.

The students' focus was on the use of the "Target Language" (the foreign language) as a medium to deliver lessons. During the first part of the morning, the students observed various lessons in French, German and Spanish delivered by College staff before putting what they had observed into practice with pre-planned lessons for specific classes.

A "working lunch" enabled College staff to feedback on observed lessons and for student teachers to ask questions about good practice.

Colleagues from UEA and members of the department felt that this was a positive experience which we hope to repeat in future years as part of our on-going commitment to support UEA's MFL teacher training programme.

With thanks to Mrs Knights for arranging the day and best of luck to all teachers for your second teaching placements!
