Wym Film Club

Wym Film Club at Wymondham College is run in association with FILMCLUB an education charity helping transform young lives through film.

There are 7,000 clubs throughout the UK and it is free to join for all state schools. Films are shown at the College every Wednesday evening at 8pm at the 'Snug' in Lincoln.  There is usually an audience of at least 50 students - a combination of both day and boarding students.

With 428 members registered on the FILMCLUB website - Wym Film Club has the largest number of online members in the county!

The students are invited to review the films they have watched and over 400 student Wym Film Club reviews have already been published.

The PSA have kindly  provided £100 worth of popcorn for students to enjoy whilst watching the films.

The club is run by Mr Edwards ably assisted by his dog Roseberry.

But what makes the club really special, is that this huge audience has watched a brilliant mix of films, from modern documentaries to British classics. Here's just a sample of the films they've watched...

Letter To Anna (2008, PG) A documentary about Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, who sought to expose government corruption and activities in Chechnya before being murdered.

Rope (1948, PG) Dark psychological thriller from suspense master Hitchcock, about two wealthy men who attempt the "perfect crime" to prove their intellectual prowess.

A Beautiful Mind (2001, 12) The true story of mathematical genius John Nash who battles to overcome his schizophrenia condition and his personal demons.
