Lincoln Lecture 2012

The fourth annual Lincoln Lecture was given by Professor Sarah Churchwell, Professor of American Literature and Public Understanding of the Humanities at the University of East Anglia

Sixth form students were fortunate to spend time during the afternoon of the lecture with Professor Churchwell who talked about her research and teaching covering 20th-21st century and contemporary American literature and culture; American film history and theory, gender theory; cultural studies and popular culture; life-writing and literary theory.

In the evening, to an audience of friends of the College, staff and students, Professor Churchwell gave an interesting and entertaining lecture entitled "Careless People: Scott Fitzgerald and The Great Gatsby".

The introduction was given by the Principal and the vote of thanks was given by Grace Roffe, Deputy Head Girl.

The lecture was presented in asscociation with the Norwich and Norfolk Branch of the English Speaking Union.
