Technology Day 2009

Wymondham College Year 8 students celebrated their 5th annual Technology Day on Tuesday

Volunteers from Wymondham Forge, Microsoft and a Willow weaver were drafted in to help with the day. Originally created to give the students opportunities they would not usually get outside school, the day has evolved into a hive of activity.

This year students had the opportunity to get involved with Forge work, den making out of Willow , Sausage Production, International Factory, Pizza Making, Bearing navigation, Lateral bridge buildings and Microsoft Robotics.

We were lucky enough to have Paul Foster from the evangelist department for Microsoft with us for the day. The students learnt how to make their own computer games for the X-box, how to control robots both by programming and voice recognition as well as playing on a touch screen computer.

Thanks must also go to Sainsburys in Attleborough who provided all the food for the sausage production.
