Technology

Technology is a department with a vibrant atmosphere that makes it a place where students want to be.

Technology is an exciting department which aims to provide opportunity and insight for all our students. Working within our Technology College specialism we are fortunate to be in a well resourced area, offering Food Technology, Graphics, Resistant Materials, Systems and Control and Manufacturing at Key Stage Three.

GCSE options include Food Technology, Graphics, Resistant Materials and Double Awarded GCSE in Manufacturing. At A-Level we offer Product Design.

As well as this we are fortunate enough to work with many different companies from Industry. This reinforces the learning that our students get and ensures we are up to date with changes in Technology.

The students are publishing a recipe book on behalf of the school.

We are constantly trying to get our Technology College students to appreciate how what we are doing at school is relevant to what is happening in industry. Sixth form students had the opportunity to see this in action in November.

Masterclasses

As part of our work with local primary schools the Technology College subject - Maths, Science ICT and Technology, have been working with year 5 and 6 students on a Saturday morning.
