Community

Part of our remit as a Specialist Language College is to offer language support and training to key groups within our extended community.

Currently our community support focuses on:

Primary Languages:

We are supporting the government’s National Language’s Strategy to offer linguistic and pedagogical support to teachers and pupils in local primary schools as we move towards a language entitlement for all Key Stage 2 pupils.

We aim to:

• Support local teachers in becoming competent and confident in language teaching

• Create and support language learning and international opportunities for local pupils

Each year, from the Autumn term, we run a Saturday morning Master Class in Mandarin Chinese which is offered to all Year 5 and 6 pupils in our local schools.

On 23rd January 2009, we are organising a French Theatre event for local primary schools. Further details to follow!

U3A and Adult Spanish course:

We are pleased to provide a Saturday morning conversational Spanish session for Wymondham’s U3A group, staff and parents.

Regional Support

We are a key member of Norfolk’s Specialist Language College forum and support Norfolk’s MFL teachers by hosting regional networking and training meetings.

PMFL Library Resources

Wymondham College library is building up a collection of PMFL resources which are available for loan to all staff in our local primary schools. Please download the document on the right for further information.
