Specialist Language College

In 2006 we were designated as a DfES Specialist Language College in recognition of excellent results and the commitment of the College to preparing students as confident international citizens in a changing global environment.

We have recently expanded our already extensive programme of international links and exchanges with schools across Europe to also include links with Nanyang High School in Shanghai, The Open Gate Boarding School in Prague and Dweba Senior Secondary School in South Africa. The Science, Geography and Art departments are currently working on curriculum projects with these schools whilst the Technology department is undertaking joint collaborative work with a school in New Zealand. All these partnerships encourage our students to learn with and via students from other countries and form the basis of our current bid to the British Council to gain the International Schools Award.
