MFL Oral Competition 2010

On 6th July we were delighted to welcome over seventy competitors and colleagues from 12 Norfolk schools to the annual Modern Foreign Languages Competition

The College organises and hosts the competition as part of our Specialist Language College Programme.

Competitors presented a range of topics to a panel of judges which included Adam Cooke, Secondary MFL Advisor for Norfolk, Andrew Sheldrake, Secondary MFL PGCE Leader UEA and Vincent Everett, Head of MFL at Dereham Northgate. Judges and colleagues were exceptionally impressed by the standard of the presentations which really put Norfolk's talented linguists in the spot light.

During the lunch break, students worked in groups to produce multi-lingual adverts to advertise a range of international products to help us promote the links between languages and business. Please click on the link on the right to see an example with musical accompaniment from the “Jingle Boys” at Sprowston High!

Congratulations to all competitors and a particular mention to Jess Walsh and Jakub Zajko from Wymondham College who won the Key Stage 5 Category for their fabulous presentation in German.
