That is exactly what Year 12 students had to do recently as part of their A level French course. A variety of innovative ideas and services including a hobby website for “silver surfers”, foldable camping cutlery, a chain of French speaking nurseries and a portfolio of luminous products were researched and developed. Students then prepared presentations (and even prototypes!) and pitched their idea in French to French speaking governor and local businessman Mr William Anthony who questioned them on their company, product and business model. Hundreds of thousands of euros (well, brioche actually!) was then invested in the companies for them to further develop their business and reward them for the quality of their work and ability to communicate in French. Félicitations à tous les participants!
