A significant strength of the department is the emphasis it places on real life.
At the heart of this are students, departmental support staff and teachers working together as equals in order to explore, in a practical manner, the complex nature of issues that our students are having to face as they enter the world as adults in the early stages of the twenty first century. Here is what we do together…..

Weather Station.
The department hosts the school weather station which is used in lessons to develop awareness of weather forecasting as well as record keeping to enable observations to be made changes in weather and climate patterns.
